Chocolate covered strawberries is one of the most popular desserts made using strawberries, but other berries can be used, too. Fine aroma and fragrance of the strawberries (home grown, right?!) blend with delicate flavor of chocolate in supreme delicacy suitable for any occasion ...

Chocolate Covered Strawberries Recipe

chocolate covered strawberriesRecipe is actually very simple, but requires some time and some skill - nothing to worry about too much.

Generally, one has to clean and dry the strawberries, cool them little bit, melt chocolate, dip strawberries in chocolate and wait for the chocolate to solidify on strawberries.

So simple ...

chocolate covered strawberriesPut the strawberries onto the plate and put in the fridge (or even freezer) for 10-15 minutes - just enough time to melt the chocolate.

chocolate covered strawberriesIf you want to add additional flavor to chocolate covered strawberries, prepare some chocolate chips (use different type of chocolate), coconut flower, sugar (if you really like sweet strawberries - I don't like it, so I don't use it), or some other chips, crumbs or powders of your choice (walnuts, almonds etc).

chocolate covered strawberriesThe easiest way to melt the chocolate is to use microwave oven.

However, microwaved chocolate tend to harden too quickly, so I prefer pot-on-the-pot system.

So, put some water in suitable pot and put another pot on the first pot and put everything on the stove.

chocolate covered strawberriesWhen choosing chocolate for strawberries, use dark chocolate. It is little bit bitter than milk chocolate and not so sweet, but IMHO, it has much better taste and aroma.

If you like to experiment, try adding some coconut flower or some vanilla into the melted chocolate and gently mix everything.

chocolate covered strawberriesRemove both pots from the stove, but keep them together - this way, chocolate will stay melted for longer period of time.

Take the strawberries out of the fridge and dip them in chocolate - use fingers or toothpicks.

However, I really prefer home grown strawberries and good, dark chocolate.

If you prefer, use a toothpick for each strawberry and let everything settle down while strawberry is on the toothpick.

Or, just put them on the plate - little bit of chocolate on the plate will not be wasted :)

And that is all - great tasting chocolate covered strawberries are done.
